Set within the magnificent Alpine landscape of Carì, in the heart of the Leventina Valley, this project was conceived through the restoration of a historic ruin, reinterpreted in a contemporary style while fully respecting traditional mountain architecture.

The building’s original stonework has been carefully enhanced and combined with contemporary materials and expansive glazed surfaces, creating a refined, minimalist architecture that blends seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.

The residence is arranged over three levels, designed to follow the natural path of the sun and enhance each living space. The sleeping area faces east, welcoming the morning light, while the living area occupies the upper floor and opens towards the south-west, overlooking the valley and offering bright interiors and breathtaking views of the Leventina mountains.

A carefully designed system of terraces and outdoor spaces blurs the boundary between inside and outside. The living area extends naturally into the landscape, while the ground-floor bedrooms enjoy direct access to the garden, creating an immersive living experience surrounded by nature.

The more enclosed and protective northern façade ensures privacy, tranquillity and excellent thermal insulation, providing maximum comfort throughout the year.

The result is an exclusive residence where the authentic charm of Alpine architecture meets contemporary design, energy efficiency and advanced comfort, creating a unique and timeless retreat in the heart of the Ticino mountains.
