The Terraces Residence aspires to create a  aesthetically beautiful and easy to inhabit space, oth indoor and outdoor, a meeting of innovation and contact with nature.

We are located in the municipality of Agra, Collina d’Oro plot in Canton Ticino, on Lake Lugano. It’s a very quit area, surrounded by a nature and hilly landscape. In addition to being in a privileged area from the point of view of the panorama and the beautiful view of the lake, it is characterized by excellent exposure to the sun. The area of Collina d’Oro, as the name also implies, is exposed to the sun for most of the day giving it a top-notch air quality envied by all.

Collina d’Oro has also been a source of inspiration for artists of all kinds for centuries, thanks to its beauty and strategic geographic location. Did you know that Nobel laureate in Literature Herman Hesse lived here for several years? A place of true artistic fervor and today a fine residential area.

As Gio Gozzi, who is leading the project, says, designing in Switzerland is not an easy thing to do, because of the hilly terrain that forces houses to be developed on multiple floors. With the Terreces Residence project, architect Gozzi wants to express two themes that are very important to him: bringing nature into the design and bringing natural light into the home.

Integrated green space project

The project consists of the construction of six terraced buildings for six family units, divided into A and B according to the elevations at which they are located. Each building is built on two floors to accommodate the existing terrain and slope, while at the same time providing optimal panoramic views.

The land is hilly, but in order to avoid the stepped construction of the villas, they opted to integrate the dwellings into the land: the surface of the hill slides over the roofs of the houses, as if the residences emerged from nature.

Common green spaces are enhanced to the fullest, creating places for sharing, peace, and relax: sensory trails based on seasonal blooms, shaded areas, play and recreation areas, and water features that make common areas enjoyable, as well as a central park are provided.

Relax, privacy and well-being in all seasons

“Man measures the spaces where his gaze reaches, and when the gaze runs to infinity it fills the soul” is what Gio Gozzi says when talking about this project. Each unit, in fact, is designed to have a privileged position to see the view, large windows are chosen, terrace parapets in extra-clear glass and dehors designed as a real portion of the house that goes out to the outside. Each unit features, in front of the living area, a bioclimatic pergola by Corradi to allow the living area to be extended outward and make the outdoor spaces livable in all seasons.

Each home has a private garden where different relax spaces take part.

The whole project was designed to ensure high performance in terms of energy, with green building technologies, and technology, with a home automation system to regulate light, blinds, heating, and everything else needed to get the most out of every space in the house.
