Biophilia literally means Love for life, from this comes MY GARDEN ®, the urban garden in which it is possible to experiment with the cultivation of medicinal seedlings through interactive workshops. The project is addressed to the community, with the aim to regenerate the urban environment.

Close your eyes and imagine small medicinal greenhouses springing up in the neighborhoods of your city in which you can find medicinal herbs and sprouts. This is the desire behind the project designed by architect Michele Perlini: city-sized modular micro greenhouses. My Garden is a great opportunity to rediscover both the healing power of the herbs themselves and the sense of well-being that it enhances in us as we take care of them.

Underlying the philosophy behind architect Perlini’s design is biophilic architecture that places man and nature in close relationship. Coined by German psychologist and philosopher Erich Fromm, the term Biophilia, which literally means “Love for Life,” actually indicates the attraction that people have for everything that is alive and vital.

Endorsed by the scientific theories of biologist Edward Olsen Wilson, biophilic design, which places habitat at the center of the human/nature relationship, focuses attention on natural elements such as light, materials and, of course, water and plants.

Simple, clean and linear, My Garden, made entirely of natural larch, thanks to automated integrated system made of recycled plexiglass, becomes a small medical greenhouse where to experiment with the cultivation of medicinal herbs.

The innate attraction that nature has on the human psyche is the stimulus that drove arch. Michele Perlini to think of a simple and easily transportable system that allows everyone to enjoy the benefits of small collective green spaces.
